Citing Qaddafi's defiant statement about "having no mercy" on the rebels, the President ordered US forces to participate in preventing Libyan forces from further massacre of civilians. This is good cause for unleashing the Western might on the sexagenarian tyrant's military assets and his loyal or hired soldiers. But intervention in Libya is precisely the sort of thing that a campaigning Obama said he would not do. What changed his mind?
