Education

An Exchange with Bernard Lewis in 1992:

in 1992 Bernard Lewis, the foremost living historian of the Middle East, wrote an article stating that Islam is a tolerant religion, specially when compared to Christianity.  I took issue with that argument, which ended up in an exchange in "The New York Review of Books." I met him again in 2002 in a conference where he debated Khaled Abu-Fadel.  I asked him again about tolerance in Islam "of course you become tolerant when you are in power" he answered.  I felt that he might have modified his previous position.

A 1980 commentary published in  "Comparative Education Review"
